Abersoch lifeboat called out to assist person in the water.

The volunteer crew were paged by H M Coastguard at 5.20pm on Saturday 14 September following a report of a possible windsurfer in the water.

The Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat was launched at 5.29pm and headed towards St Tudwal’s islands where the casualty was thought to be.

After completing a search of Abersoch bay no casualty was found. Following further information from the first informant the search was extended towards Pwllheli.

The casualty was located on a paddleboard and advised the crew that no assistance was required.

The volunteer crew returned to the lifeboat station at 6.23pm where the lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and left ready for service.
