This crucial volunteer role is integral to the lifeboat station's operations, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact in life-saving missions along the Brighton coastline.

A Launch Authority at Brighton RNLI is tasked with the vital responsibility of authorising the launch of the lifeboat in response to emergencies at sea.

The successful candidate will work closely with the station's crew and will play a pivotal role in the station's daily operations, ensuring that all missions are conducted safely and effectively.

Roger Cohen MBE, operations manager at Brighton, highlighted the importance of the role, stating: 'A Launch Authority is a key member of the Station. They will be responsible ultimately for authorising the launch of the lifeboat on a life-saving mission. Equally, they will assist in the running of a busy Lifeboat Station with a great team of dedicated volunteers.'

The RNLI offers comprehensive training to ensure that the new Launch Authority is fully equipped to handle the responsibilities of the position.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a life-saving cause while working with a dedicated team of volunteers who share a common passion for protecting lives at sea.

Applications close on October 13, 2024. You can apply here: https://volunteering.rnli.org/vacancy/launch-authority---brighton-568035.html
