
Blyth RNLI sees changes at the lifeboat station
Blyth RNLI are pleased to say that following a recent recruitment campaign 5 new volunteer crew have joined the RNLI
With the induction process now complete the 5 volunteer crew are beginning their training in order to save lives at sea.
Further changes see Jamie Shepherd complete an additional ten months training to become a qualified Helm on the Atlantic 85 lifeboat as well as the D Class inshore lifeboat at Blyth.
More new faces are expected at Blyth RNLI following recruitment for the Launch Authority role to join the Operations Team.
Paul Whittle and Jamie Shepherd have both completed mechanic courses to enable them to carry out maintenance on the station's lifeboats.
Commenting on his helm training Jamie Shepherd said;'I'm pleased to have completed the training required to pass out as a Helm on the Atlantic 85 and look forward to working with the new volunteer crew as they start their journey with the RNLI.'
Lifeboat Operations Manager at Blyth RNLI, Terry Healy said;'It's been a busy Summer for all the volunteers connected with Blyth RNLI and i'd like to thank them for the time and enthusiasm they have shown. I'm pleased that the recent recruitment campaigns have proven to be successful and welcome the new faces to the station. Congratulations also to Jamie for his commitment and hard work to complete his pass out on the Atlantic 85.
