Blyth RNLI thanks NorthStandard for their support
On Tuesday 22nd October Blyth RNLI welcomed representatives from NorthStandard to their lifeboat station.
NorthStandard have been supporting Blyth RNLI over the last couple of years and they were there to officially present two casualty care manikins.
These manikins will enable the volunteer crew to be able to practice both searching for casualties at sea but also to perform CPR and ensure that their skills are up to date.
Terry Healy Lifeboat Operations Manager at Blyth RNLI said; ‘It was a pleasure to host representatives from NorthStandard and to be able to show them how their support is helping our volunteer with their training. We are grateful for the presentation of the manikins, which allows the volunteer crew here at Blyth to continue to train to save lives at sea.
Stephen Sayers who is a volunteer crew member at Blyth RNLI and also works at NorthStandard said; ‘I enjoyed the opportunity to show my fellow colleagues the work that RNLI undertakes and the training that we are utilising the manikins for.’
