Deputy Lieutenant visits Blyth RNLI to present medals

On Tuesday 15th October Blyth RNLI welcomed the Deputy Lieutenant Mr Keith Green to the lifeboat station

Blyth RNLI volunteers presented with their King's Coronation Medals
The Deputy Lieutenant was representing the Lord-Lieutenant of Northumberland in presenting the King's Coronation medal to several volunteers at Blyth RNLI.

Mr Green was met at the station by Terry Healy the Lifeboat Operations Manager for Blyth RNLI and was given a tour of the lifeboat station and discussed the work of the RNLI.

The volunteers were presented with their medals.

Terry Healy, Lifeboat Operations Manager, who was one of the recipients on the night said 'It was a proud moment for me to welcome the Deputy Lieutenant to the lifeboat station and to receive my King's Coronation Medal. I'd like to thank Mr Keith Green for taking the time to visit the station and learn about the work we do. I'd also like to say congratulations to the other recipients of their medals. It's very much appreciated that our service as volunteers is recognised.'

Mr Green departed the lifeboat station and the volunteer crew carried on their evening by launching both the inshore lifeboats out on exercise.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
