Southwold RNLI volunteers receive the Kings Coronation medal
Prior to the Remembrance day parade on Sunday 10 November, Southwold RNLI volunteers were presented with their Kings Coronation medals.
The design features a double portrait of Their Majesties on the front and a version of the Royal Cypher, a laurel wreath and the date of the Coronation on the reverse.
The ribbon is made up of red, blue and white vertical stripes - the colours of the Union Flag and are made of nickel silver and plated in nickel.
Alongside the Coronation medals presentation there was a 20 year service medal for Fundraiser Peter Gillatt who has dedicated two decades as a member of the Southwold & Dunwich fundraising branch and more recently as a shop volunteer.
Lisa Cooper-Dann Chair of the Southwold & Dunwich fundraisers said: ‘Congratulations to Peter Gillatt on his well-deserved medal! His unwavering dedication to the RNLI over the past 20 years, as a tireless fundraiser, volunteer, and secretary of the fundraising committee, embodies the true spirit of selflessness and commitment to saving lives at sea. Thank you, Peter, for your remarkable service.’
Ian Dabbs said: ‘Peter has been a loyal supporter of the RNLI Fundraising team for over 20 years undertaking many roles.
He has regularly taken part in Street Collections, served on the Fundraising Committee and, more recently, has become a valued member of the Shop Volunteer Team.’
Southwold RNLI currently has a number of volunteering opportunities available.
