A heartfelt donation for Angle RNLI

Lifeboats News Release

This past October, the Neyland Ladies Choir hosted a beautiful event at St. Mary’s Church on Waterloo Road in Hakin, a 90th birthday celebration for one of their treasured singers Mrs. Dorothy Beckett.

Dorothy has been a devoted supporter of the RNLI for decades and in the 1970s, she was instrumental in establishing the Hakin Point RNLI Fundraising Group.

Through her unwavering dedication, this group managed to raise over £500,000 for the RNLI. Dorothy’s efforts laid the foundation that has enabled the Milford Haven RNLI Fundraising Group to carry on her legacy, striving to emulate her incredible success for many years to come.

The concert raised over £1,000 - a sum that was presented to Angle RNLI in an emotional moment at The Bethesda Baptist Church in Neyland this evening. Accepting this generous donation from Dorothy and the choir were Steve Lewis, Chairman of the fundraising group, and Thomas Kehoe, Deputy Coxswain to the Angle Lifeboat.

During the birthday celebration, Alice Coleman RNLI Community Manager, presented Dorothy with her Long Service Medal on behalf of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, honoring her 50 years of unparalleled commitment to saving lives at sea. Thank you to Neyland Ladies Choir and the incredible Dorothy Beckett - words cannot fully capture the gratitude of Angle RNLI.
