Troon RNLI lifeboat launching on service
With the volunteer lifeboat crew making their way to the lifeboat station, Trent class lifeboat RNLB Jim Moffat and D class inshore lifeboat Sheena were launched and heading to the scene.

With police resources and Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team searching from the shore, both lifeboats carried a search off the coast.

After a comprehensive search of the area, and nothing found, the search was stood down by Belfast Coastguard pending further information being received.

Both lifeboats returned to Troon where they were made ‘ready for service’ with the assistance of the shore crew.

If you think you see someone in difficulty at the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
