Alongside coastguard teams and Police resources, the volunteer lifeboat crew launched D class inshore lifeboat Sheena and Trent class all-weather lifeboat RNLB Jim Moffat to search an area to the north of the harbour.

With the search underway, information came through from the Police that the person had been located so the lifeboats were stood down by Belfast Coastguard.

Both lifeboats returned to station and were made ‘ready for service’ with the assistance of the shore crew.
