Clacton RNLI lifeboat station celebrate successful coffee morning
On Saturday 9 March the ladies fundraising group of RNLI Clacton held a coffee morning at local popular church St Batholomew's, Holland-on-Sea.
This ever popular event that sees an array of stalls selling many different items including Lifeboat gifts and bric-a-brac, also served freshly baked cakes along with tea and coffee. The event also included a raffle with an array of prizes available.
The hard work of everyone involved was rewarded with an amazing total raised of £577.93 and an additional £163.64 was raised from the sale of RNLI shop items. This saw a total of £741.57 raised for the station.
Mark Walsham, Lifeboat Press Officer says:
‘We like nothing better than inviting our supporters to come and visit one of our events, and this one was no exception. Our ladies fundraising team worked hard to plan and run this excellent event, which was very well attended and raised nearly £750 in vital funds. It is this grassroots fundraising that helps to keep our volunteer crews and boats available to launch when needed. We would like to thank our fundraising team and the public for their fantastic support of our community lifeboat station.’
