How Burnham-on-Sea RNLI celebrated RNLI200
Here’s a taste of what your local Volunteer Lifeboat crew have been up to on 4th March, celebrating 200 years of the RNLI;
Helmsman Tim Johnson, Launch Authority Lyndon Baker and trainee Launch Authority Nigel Morton were invited to the official RNLI Thanksgiving Service in Westminster this morning, whilst Ade, Ashley and many others, including our shop volunteers manned the station for an open ‘Brew with the Crew’ from 10:30am -2:30pm
In recent weeks through his full time work, lifeboat crew Daren helped to support the liaison for the official BT Tower in London to display the brilliant commemorative RNLI message for all to see.
Not to mention the lifeboat station usual duties, maintaining crewing levels here in Burnham for boat cover should the pagers sound with an emergency
Teamwork, dream work! All glad and proud to be part of one giant lifesaving family, active in our community
Launch Authority Nigel Morton said of the day; ‘ It was a huge privilege to be at Westminster Abbey today, as a member of the Burnham RNLI team, celebrating the incredible achievements of 200 years of saving lives at sea - and inspiring that service today and into the future.’
