Llandudno lifeboat responds to possible person in the water near Rhos on Sea
New Helm Gareth Robinson leads search effort in first operational lifeboat task as helm.
The lifeboat quickly arrived on scene at 3.40pm and commenced a search for the reported casualty. Llandudno Coastguard Rescue Tea also joined the effort by observing from the shore and communicating with the lifeboat.
Despite thorough searching, including an expanding square search based on the initial report, only a few pot buoys were found in the area.
A spokesperson for Llandudno RNLI says:
'Seeing something in the water and reporting it straight away to the Coastguard is absolutely the best thing to do. The person that makes this call could be the only chance that a casualty has of being rescued.
'In this case, the call was made and has turned out to be unfounded and false alarm with good intent.'
