En route further information came though that the vessel had been beached and the people were now ashore.
The lifeboat arrived on scene and dropped two crew ashore to conduct a welfare check - thankfully all were well but a little shaken.

The volunteer crew assisted with laying an anchor and handed over care to Poole Coastguard Rescue Team.

With no further assistance required the lifeboat returned to station and was refuelled and ready for service by 1:30pm.

Poole Helm Kitty said ‘They made the right decision to broadcast a Mayday and then beach the boat to keep everyone safe.

‘I’m pleased my first shout as helm is complete and thanks to my crew for their support.’

This was the 36th launch in 2024 for the Poole volunteers.
