
Llandudno community lunch raises funds for the RNLI
Over £400 raised during three-course meal at Coleg Llandrillo's Orme View Restaurant.
John spoke about the amount of time and effort all the volunteers put in to making sure that when the lifeboats go to sea, everything is done in the correct and safest manner.
Along with the talk, the guests enjoyed a three course meal and a raffle. The event raised an incredible £426. Fundraising Chair, Sue Perkins says:
‘This was such a nice setting to have a meal. The view from the windows was gorgeous and the food was delicious. John’s talk highlighted the commitment to training by the volunteers and really rounded the afternoon off. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.’
Key facts about the RNLI
The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
