Tonight Sam passed his final afloat assessment to become the station’s newest qualified Mechanic on our Severn Class All-Weather Lifeboat Sybil Mullen Glover.

Training on-station and at the RNLI College in Poole it takes many hours of practical and theory tasks to reach the required standard to fulfil the important role of being an RNLI Mechanic onboard our All-Weather Lifeboat.

Senior Station Technician Wesley Foster says “I’d like to congratulate Sam on passing out as an All-Weather Lifeboat Mechanic. Sam has put a lot of time and effort into learning all aspects of the lifeboat machinery and the emergency procedures and it was shown tonight with a flying colours pass. Well done Sam!”
