Join the Lifesaving Team at Carrybridge Lifeboat Station!

The Lifeboat Crew, composed entirely of volunteers, is led by the Lifeboat Operations Manager and Launch Authorities, and is supported by a dedicated Shore Crew. These teams work together seamlessly to launch lifeboats, ensure safety during operations, and maintain and service the boats post-mission. All volunteers undergo rigorous training under the RNLI's national Competency Based Training Scheme and respond promptly to pager alerts when lifeboats are needed for emergency services or training exercises. Beyond the immediate crew, the station also benefits from the efforts of volunteer fundraisers, shop assistants, and water safety advocates.

By joining Carrybridge Lifeboat Station, you will play a crucial role in saving lives on Lough Erne. Your contributions will ensure that our lifeboat is always ready for action, providing vital services during both emergency shouts and routine training exercises. You will undertake comprehensive training and maintain competence according to the Competency Framework and you will be on call to respond to lifeboat 'shouts', participate in regular training exercises, and assist in the upkeep of the station, lifeboat, and related equipment.

To be a volunteer, you need a team-oriented attitude, effective communication skills, general physical fitness, and a willingness to learn new skills. Additionally, you should live or work within 8 miles of the station and be between 18 and 65 years old.

By volunteering, you will become part of an inclusive and diverse organization, enjoy meeting new people, and be part of a motivated team. You will gain new skills and valuable experience to enhance your CV, experience the fulfilment of giving back to the community, and receive full training for your role
