Workington RNLI called out to person having medical episode

Volunteer lifeboat crew from Workington RNLI were called out after calls that a person was having a medical episode on a yacht off Workington.

The volunteer crew of the all-weather lifeboat Dorothy May White responded to the call, at 1.30pm on Sunday, July 21.

The casualty, on a yacht, was transferred to a waiting ambulance for assessment.

Also in attendance were Maryport and Whitehaven Coastguard rescue teams and the North West Ambulance Service.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands.
