Scotland RNLI lifeguards swap the beach for Dundee Donor Centre
7 of Scotland’s RNLI lifeguards from Fife and Dundee donated blood on Wednesday 7 July.
Our lifeguards have been busy patrolling beaches throughout our peak season, but 7 lifeguards took the time out of lifeguarding duties to donate 470mls of blood to help Scotland’s patients.
Blood stocks can fall by up to 20% over the summer months. If like Scotland's lifeguards you'd like to help us stay between the flags and keep Scotland's blood stocks healthy, please book your appointment by calling 0345 90 90 999 or visit scotblood.co.uk.
When visiting the beach this summer remember:
- Visit a lifeguarded beach and swim between the red and yellow flags
- Keep a close eye on your family – on the beach and in the water – don’t allow your family to swim alone.
- If you fall into the water unexpectedly, FLOAT TO LIVE. Find out how here: Float To Live – What To Do In An Emergency – RNLI
