Seahouses all-weather Shannon class lifeboat RNLB John and Elizabeth Allan launched and made best speed to the reported location of the casualty vessel. The situation was assessed, and it was established that the safest option was to tow the casualty with its crew, to safety at Seahouses harbour.

The lifeboat and casualty vessel arrived back at Seahouses at 3.50pm that day after a slow tow. Once the casualty vessel was safely moored in the harbour, the lifeboat returned to station.

Seahouses RNLI Volunteer Press Officer Ian Clayton commented: 'A very straight forward job, carried out in good weather conditions. Our crew were pleased to be able to assist the unfortunate vessel on this occasion.'
