Successful St Peter Port RNLI fundraising weekend
On Saturday 13 July St Peter Port RNLI held its annual flag day in St Sampsons and St Peter Port.
We had our all-weather lifeboat ‘Spirit of Guernsey’, and newly named inshore lifeboat ‘Harold Hobbs’, and from Jersey ‘St Helier’s George Sullivan’ alongside Victoria Marina. Everyone from young and old loved having a look around the lifeboats and meeting the Guernsey and Jersey volunteer crews and our mascot Stormy Stan.
Thank you to our local shanty group GU10, who provided the entertainment and got everyone waving flags and singing along with them.
A huge thank you to Ray Scott for the donation of the Bremont S500 RNLI limited edition watch. The raffle raised over £6000 St Peter Port RNLI, and our winner Martyn Russell was absolutely delighted when he learnt he had the winning ticket.
We also want to thank Swim all Seasons who hosted a charity swim and raised over £300.00. The sea conditions were perfect and became very colorful with all the floats, as the swimmers left Havelet slip and made their way out and around the inshore lifeboat ‘Harold Hobbs’ and back.
On Sunday 14 July everyone had a another opportunity to come aboard the two Guernsey lifeboats and meet the volunteer crew and Stormy Stan for the Guernsey Motor Sport seafront Sunday. Guernsey Motor Sport kindly donated all the entry fees to St Peter Port RNLI. Thank you.
Thank you to the generous people of Guernsey for supporting our fundraising weekend and helping to make it a great success and thank you to all our helpers on the day. Without you we would not be able to put on all our fundraising events.
Whether it’s giving an hour now and then, or something more regular, fundraisers make a lifesaving difference. Please get in touch if you are interested in becoming a St Peter Port fundraising volunteer.
