Over 60 tickets were sold in advance of the event which was a testament to the popularity of the cream tea which has grown over the years.

On the menu at this year's cream tea were sweet strawberries and cream, home-made sandwiches and cakes as well as unlimited tea and coffee. A fundraiser isn't a fundraiser without a raffle which helps raise vital funds to help the RNLI continue saving lives at sea.

The volunteering team were bowled over by the generosity of local businesses that came forward to help support the event by donating many of the items that made the day possible.

Sue Summerfield, Fundraising Chair said: ‘The generous donations made by Tesco, Morrisons and Dalton Road Spar enabled us to maximise our fundraising efforts. Also special thanks to our volunteers who made cakes and gave up their time to make the event so successful. I am so proud to be part of the amazing team of volunteers at Port Talbot RNLI.’

The Port Talbot crew would like to thank everyone that came along to the tea, a massive £536.70 was raised. Special thanks are also given to Port Talbot-based business Aluminium Lighting Company for their kind donation of £100.
