Llandudno floral tribute blooms for RNLI 200th anniversary

Conwy Council nursery's stunning flowerbed clock in Llandudno honours lifesaving legacy with 6,500 plants.

Sarah Ferrante and the team at Conwy Council Nursery have created an incredible work on the flowerbed clock face in Llandudno that has been planted to commemorate the 200 year celebrations of the RNLI.

In total there are 6,500 plants that have been grown and meticulously placed to make up this incredible piece.

The local RNLI Fundraising Team went to see the work going on and to watch the charity's logo coming to life.

Sue Perkins, Fundraising Chair sais:

'The work and attention to detail that has gone into this piece is a credit to all involved and really means a lot to us, the RNLI and all those involved.

'Huge thank you to Sarah and her team for this wonderful commemorative gesture.'

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
