Tenby all-weather lifeboat launched to assist possible dinghy in difficulty

Lifeboats News Release

The Haydn Miller was launched at 3pm on Sunday 7th July, after the Coastguard received a report from a member of the public that a dingy with two persons on board may be in difficulty off Stackpole Head.

The volunteer crew made best speed to the area, some eight miles west of Tenby and once there, began their search for the dinghy, which was reportedly yellow in colour.

The crew soon located yellow and a black kayaks, but the occupants were fishing and in no difficulty.

Having spoken several other kayaks in the area and with none of them having seen a dinghy and nobody reported missing, it was deeemd a false alarm with good intent.

The lifeboat then returned to station, arriving at 4.35pm.
