Royal Northumbria Yacht Club Training Event
Volunteers from local lifeboat stations gathered at Blyth for a yacht training event
The training focussed on sailing vessels with particular emphasis on the towing principals and strong points on a sailing yacht. Additionally the team the Royal Northumbria Yacht Club were able to give a close up insight around the workings of a sailing vessel.
The event provided a great learning opportunity for the volunteer crews as in this area of south east Northumberland we have a few sailing clubs which regularly sail in the area.
The RNLI Water Safety team also supported the event with Geoff Cowan one of the local team running a lifejacket and support clinic on the quayside.
The event was a great success with thanks to our flank station at Blyth and we look forward to further networking in the future.
