Volunteers tipped the Faringdon and District branch in Oxfordshire past the £8K mark for 2024 after a December stall in Witney Market raised £187 and supporter Adrian Pitts's Reindeer Run yielded over £250.

The original target of £7K has been easily exceeded and various other ventures are already in the pipeline for 2025, including a stall by the exit to Tesco in Abingdon on January 18.

Said Chair Dave Thompson: "It's a super way to start 2025 as that particular site has always attracted great support.

"In the meantime my very best thanks to all for such a successful 2024. We're a long way from the sea but it's always heartening to see the amount of support we receive."
