Both Eyemouth lifeboats conducted a search after a digital distress call

The volunteers checked boats in Eyemouth and Burnmouth harbours for the casualty vessel, then searched the coastline between Burnmouth and St Abbs, The search was also conducted by St Abbs lifeboat crew and Eyemouth Coastguard.

After two hours the lifeboats were stood down after the Coastguard made contact with the vessel owner, who confirmed that the boat is currently out of the water.

Eyemouth RNLI lifeboat station Coxswain, Andrew Jamieson said, “it is a reminder that boat owners should check that their equipment is properly isolated if boats are unattended during the winter season. I would also like to thank all the station volunteers for their hard work and time during 2024”.
