Boxing Day shout for Angle RNLI
Angle all-weather lifeboat was requested to launch at 2.40pm on the 26 December.
The lifeboat was soon underway and arrived on scene around 20 minutes later. Unfortunately, with the swell on the beach too great for the Y boat to go ashore the crew were forced to stand off and await a lull in the conditions.
With Tenby and St Govan’s Coastguard Rescue Teams on scene and the casualty in significant pain, a local surfer paddled out to collect Entonox from the lifeboat. Luckily, an off duty RNLI lifeguard was one of the surfers at the beach so was able to safely administer the lifeboats pain relief to the casualty.
With the casualty now a lot more comfortable, he was packaged by the Coastguard Teams and evacuated from the beach. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
With no further assistance required, the lifeboat was stood down and was back alongside the her berth and readied for further service by 4.30pm.
