As the rain cleared, it was standing room only on Mudeford Quay as local choristers The Choir Engine, led the audience through a festive evening of Christmas carols.

The event was organised by Mudeford RNLI and sponsored by local estate agents, Winkworth. Volunteer Lifeboat Operations Manager, Tim Hewett, welcomed everyone before inviting the worshipful, the mayor of Christchurch, Cllr. Paul Hilliard to officially open the event.

During the event visitors enjoyed mulled wine and hotdogs from the Haven Café and Inn. The volunteer lifeboat station crew and fundraisers, together with, the RNLI’s Stormy Stan and Rookie the Reindeer were on hand to welcome visitors to the Quay.

After the carols, the lifeboat station was open for tours with many taking the opportunity to see Mudeford RNLI’s new Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Henrietta H.

Tim explained, ‘The Mudeford Lifeboat Station is very much part of the local community here in Christchurch. Last year we had the idea to hold a carol concert as a way of thanking the community for their generous support. We are delighted that the concert has proved so popular again this year and a huge thank you to all those who attended. On behalf of the Mudeford Lifeboat Station we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!'
