Cadence's Certificate of Thanks

In her final year of primary school last year, young supporter and daughter of Walmer helm James, Cadence proposed that RNLI Walmer lifeboat be put forward to be the school’s Charity of the Year for 2023/2024. This included crew visiting the school to offer sea safety advice and the school running a number of fundraising events. At the end of the year, with her help, the school raised an amazing £2,800.

To recognise her valued contribution to the RNLI and to saving lives at sea, Cadence has received a Certificate of Thanks signed by Chief Executive Peter Sparkes.

The second award was presented to Walmer crew member Nic. From the beginning of the RNLI 200th Anniversary celebrations, Nic was fully behind all the events organised at the station, including, amongst other things, reintroducing the Welly Walk, organising a month-long H2O Challenge and arranging a Crazy Golf Day. She ensured that all of these events were fully inclusive of all volunteers, clearly demonstrating the One Crew ethos.

In recognition of her efforts, she was presented with an Excellence in Volunteering Award.

Speaking at the presentation, Walmer Operations Manager Denis Brophy said: ‘I am delighted to present this award tonight. You have helped make our 200th Anniversary year an amazing one.’
