Bangor RNLI receives £4,000 donation
A donation of £4,000 has been welcomed by Bangor RNLI following a gift by a local fuel supply terminal operator
Valero Energy Ltd operate the marine terminal in Belfast Port, which is a critical part of the fuel supply network in Northern Ireland. Tim Smith, Valero’s Regional Operations Manager, said of the visit: ‘It was fantastic to visit Bangor’s lifeboat station to meet some of the incredible people who work so hard to make their vital missions a reality. Valero recognises the significant impact that the RNLI has on the community here in Bangor, and I was pleased to show our huge thanks with Valero’s donation, which I hope will help support them to continue saving lives at sea.’
Captain Byron Griffiths, Bangor RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, said: 'The RNLI is reliant on voluntary donations to power our lifesaving work. That’s why donations such as Valero’s are so welcome. We appreciate this kind contribution, which will be put to great use in saving lives at sea.'
