On Friday 29 November, the two buildings were connected to the station electrical supply by employees of Gigawatt electrical services ltd in Bristol, at no cost to the RNLI. Additionally, the stores required to carry out the electrical work were donated by Bristol firm Edmundsons Electrical in Malago Road, again at zero cost.

Gigawatt electrical services electrician Adam Bradbury-Smith (Also a Burnham lifeboat crew member) explains; ‘The company has donated the labour, and Edmundsons electrical in Malago road have donated the materials to complete the work. We have run a sub main to a new fuse board which supplies both cabins. On completion, we then tested the install to make sure it is safe and compliant’

Gigawatt electrical services Director Ross Towill quotes: ‘It’s a great privilege to carry out works for the RNLI and they have our upmost support.’

Burnham-on-Sea RNLI station Lifeboat Operations Manager replies; ‘This is a well received donation from Gigawatt Electrical Services in Bristol, and Edmundsons also from Bristol. We have been in need of extra space for some time and completion of this work will give our vital shorecrew the space they need to change and get ready!
