Stranraer RNLI were joined by Police Scotland Dumfries & Galloway, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Scottish Ambulance Service, Stranraer Coastguard, Dumfries and Galloway Council, P&O Ferries and Stena Line UKIE to preform a joint training exercise.

The teams were given a scenario with a fire onboard a vessel berthed in the harbour with persons reported on board. Stranraer RNLI inshore lifeboat responded as part of the training exercise.

Sean Hannah, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Stranraer RNLI, says: ‘This collaborative training exercise provided our volunteer crew members with access to additional knowledge and skills of local agencies. This has no doubt opened up new connections and collaborative avenues to help us continue to save lives at sea.'
