TV celebrity visits Lytham St Annes Lifeboat House to view RNLI Paver Project
BBC TV Presenter and Farmer Tom Pemberton endorses RNLI 200th Paver Project
As part of the RNLI’s 200th birthday celebrations, a line of pavers outside the Lytham St Annes All-weather (ALB) Lifeboat House on South Promenade are being replaced with ones engraved with names of loved ones and supporters of the local lifeboat station as permanent memorials.
Every time the lifeboat launches she will follow this path to the head of the slipway taking her down to the beach. Their location makes them available at all times to be viewed by the public as they pass by.
Tom Pemberton, Lytham Farmer and presenter of the BBC TV Programme The Fast – and the Farmer-ish recently visited the boathouse to view the pavers and continue his families’ long time support for Lytham St Annes RNLI.
Tom was then given a demonstration of the station’s Shannon Launch and Recovery System (SLARS) by driver Simon Brown to compare it to normal farm tractors. Engraved pavers are still available to purchase until the end of August and the grand unveiling of the pathway will take place on the morning of Saturday 5 October 2024 (time to be announced).
For further details of how to purchase a paver please contact [email protected] or visit Facebook - RNLI 200th Anniversary Paver Project.
