Youghal RNLI say big thank you to Mallow Triathlon Club for generous donation.
Youghal RNLI met up with some of the members from Mallow Triathlon club on Sunday ( 28th July) where they presented them with a cheque in the value of €1500.
Members Joanne McCann, Sinead Renton and Geoff Collins visited the station on Sunday (28th July) where they made a generous donation of
€1500 on behalf of the Mallow Triathlon Club.
The club was formed in 2016 with just a handful of members with the purpose of bringing together a diverse of people with varied skill levels across all three disciplines ( Swimming, cycling and running).
To support one another, train, achieve fitness goals, all whilst supporting the wider community where they can, speaking while on their visit Geoff Collins had this to say,' Youghal is a lovely town, and great place to take a dip. Lots of our members are from Youghal and with even more of our members taking part in the Ironman that was held here in 2023. We realise the importance of the RNLI for a town like this and its great to see it being so supported by its community.'
Youghal RNLI's Launching Authority Mark Nolan also commented,' We would like to thank the members of Mallow Triathlon Club for their very kind donation. We are extremely grateful. We rely entirely on donations to fund our crew training and equipment so donations such as this are vital for us to continue providing our service and save lives at sea.'
