Burnham-on-Sea RNLI volunteers welcome Weston-super-mare fundraising cyclists

Weston resident Jason Belcher (Whose brother-in-law is a member of Weston lifeboat crew) set himself the task of cycling 200 kilometres to raise much needed funds for Weston RNLI lifeboat station

The proposed route was as follows: Weston – Portishead – Weston (Stones Café) – Burnham-on-Sea RNLI lifeboat station – Weston – followed up by circuits of Weston Esplanade until the targeted 200 kilometres. Distance. During this venture he was joined by friends Keith Drinkwater,and Ollie Halmkin, also from Weston..

On their arrival at Burnham-on-Sea lifeboat station they were greeted by a small reception party of RNLI volunteers, and Jason’s relative, Heather Major, who lives at Burnham-on-Sea, Before leaving, they posed for a documentary photograph in front of Burnham's boathouse.

Jason said; ‘It was initially a challenging target, but on our finishing, we shall have raised over a thousand pounds for the RNLI..
