With a moderate sea state and a westerly wind force 4 the lifeboat arrived on scene shortly after launching, and located the vessel which was broken down due to engine failure approximately 1 mile off Ardmore Pier.

Under the helm of Kevin Daly who was recently passed out as helm following a comprehensive training regime this was Kevin's first service in command, alongside his crew members Jack Nolan, Liam Keogh and Erik Brooks. They observed Three people onboard the vessel, that did not require medical assistance. The volunteer RNLI crew quickly got all three transferred to the lifeboat and took the vessel under the tow back the Boat cove in Ardmore. Ardmore Coast Guard unit were waiting the arrival of the lifeboat where the three people were handed over.

Speaking afterwards, John Hearne Youghal Lifeboat operations manager said, ' The crew in the boat were all wearing lifejackets and had a means of calling for help which I recommend to everyone who plans on going to sea.'
