Alongside officers from Police Scotland, Coastguard teams from Ayr and Ardrossan were also making their way to the scene as the lifeboat crew launched Trent class all-weather lifeboat RNLB Jim Moffat and D class inshore lifeboat Sheena.

With both lifeboats on route, a medical incident was also reported on the beach at Irvine and as the lifeboats approached Irvine, the inshore lifeboat headed into the River Irvine while the all-weather lifeboat launched the XP boat to assist on the beach.

After arriving on scene within the river, it was established by the emergency services in attendance that the person had made their own way from the water unaided.

The inshore lifeboat was then tasked to assist the crew from the XP boat and Coastguard teams on the beach.

With Casualty Care provided by the lifeboat crew and coastguards, an ambulance attended and the casualty was transferred into the care of the ambulance crew.

Following this the crew returned to station where the crew and fundraisers gathered at the station for a photograph.

As the RNLI was founded in 1824, and in celebration of 200 years of the charity, all RNLI volunteers came together at 18.24 on 1.8.24.

This special ‘One Moment One Crew' moment was held to connect all RNLI volunteers across the UK and Ireland to create a digital montage of a unique moment in time.
