Port Isaac RNLI carry out Medical Evacuation at Bossiney Cove
Port Isaac RNLI's volunteer crew responded to a call for assistance at 12:48 PM on Wednesday 31st July. The lifeboat, Pride of Port Isaac, was launched following a request from the coastguard to assist a member of the public who had sustained a head injury at Bossiney Cove.
Senior Helm Damien Bolton explained the situation: "With temperatures soaring that day, the coastal path would have been a difficult route for someone injured. Our priority was the well-being of the casualty, and the fastest way to get them to further medical care was by lifeboat. We transported the individual to Boscastle, where they were handed over to the coastguard team waiting for an ambulance to arrive."
The crew of the Pride of Port Isaac ensured the casualty was safely transferred and received the necessary care. The RNLI continues to remind the public to take extra precautions during hot weather, especially when navigating challenging coastal areas.
