RNLI Berwick-upon-Tweed call with good intent
The call had come in from a passenger on a train whilst crossing the Royal Border Bridge, having seen someone in the middle of the river Tweed up to their waist in water.

The crew made haste up the river Tweed to search for the person. On arrival at the scene, it became apparent that it was a fisherman fly fishing.

This was a call with good intent, never hesitate to call 999 and ask for H M Coastguard, if you suspect someone could be in trouble in the water.

Once the crew established that their was no one in danger, they informed H M Coastguard and returned to the station, where the lifeboat was washed down and made ready for service again.
