Outgoing Capt. of Baron Hill Golf Club donates appeal money to the Beaumaris RNLI

He called down to the lifeboat station on our exercise night and presented the crew with a cheque for £1,100.

Mr Warburton wished to thank the golf club members and the following local commercial organisations for their donations to his fund: Castle Court the Buckley hotel, Liverpool Arms hotel, Fat Face clothing shop, Red Boat ice cream shop, Sea Wake and Neptune boat trip operators, Arvonia Coach tours, Happy Valley tea rooms, Castle Garage, George and Dragon public house, Pentraeth Automotive, Henllys Golf Club and Lottie (shop) Lorraine (hairdresser) and Dafydd of Joan Hopkins Estate agents.

Mr Tim Bailey said ‘on behalf of all the volunteers at Beaumaris lifeboat station I’d like to extend our sincere heartfelt thanks to Nigel and the Baron Hill golf club for this donation. These funds will assist us in being able us to continue delivering a lifesaving capability from our lifeboat station’.

 

Key facts about the RNLI

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 146,000 lives.
