Beach hut owners make generous donation to Southwold RNLI
On Thursday 16 November, Southwold and Dunwich RNLI Fundraisers were presented with a cheque for £3,800 by beach hut owner Mark Eaton.
The hut is managed by Lisa Cooper-Dann and the cleaning is carried out by Lisa and a team of volunteers, including members of the Sole Bay Swimmers.
This winter Sole Bay Hut 6 will be undergoing a refurbishment with Southwold lifeboat helm, Harry Cooper providing his carpentry skills and other members of the crew assisting with painting a new colour scheme to match the lifeboat.
Mark Eaton said: ‘It’s an honour for my family to be associated in this way with supporting our RNLI station, who do such vital work to keep all users of the water safe without judgement whenever the need arises.'
Lisa Cooper-Dann from the Chair of the Southwold and Dunwich RNLI fundraisers commented: ’Meeting Mark and sharing our love for swimming has not only created a fabulous friendship but also shown me how generous and kind people can be in supporting others; in this case, our local RNLI crew through the money raised from hut rentals. I cannot thank Mark enough for his generosity and support.’
Sole Bay Hut number 6 will be available for booking again for the 2024 season, bookings can be made via https://solebayhut6.innstyle.co.uk/
