
Port Talbot RNLI assist in the search for a missing child
HM Coastguard tasked Port Talbot RNLI at 9.13 pm yesterday (17 May) to assist the Police in a search for a missing child
With light winds and clear visibility, volunteer shore crew and boat crew launched the inshore lifeboat, Craig Morris.
Port Talbot RNLI's volunteer crew were task by HM Coastguards to carry out a shore line search. While commencing the search, reports were received that the casualty had been found safe and sound in the sand dunes by Police.
Port Talbot RNLI Lifeboat Manager Clive Morris said: 'This evening our lifeboat launched on service. Our volunteer crew working closely with our partner agencies from South Wales Police, Port Talbot Coastguard and National Police Air Service.
'The incident was resolved quickly. With the person being located by police some distance from the water.'
Once notification was received that the incident had been resolved RNLI Port Talbot lifeboat was recovered, refuelled, washed down and made ready for service.
