The lifeboat made best safe speed to the Causeway by road, using the Station Landrover and its launching trailer.

On arrival, the inshore lifeboat was launched and then recovered the people from their car, and transported them back to the mainland where they were handed into the care of local Coastguards.

The inshore lifeboat then returned to station by road and was made ready for service at 1:35pm.

High Tide at Holy Island was at 12.11, and safe crossing times were from 2:30am until 10:10am, and from 2:50pm until 10:55pm.
