The volunteers at RNLI Rhyl held their annual race at Dyserth Waterfalls last Monday (1st May), raising fund for the lifesaving work of the charity.

The event was well supported as usual by the local community with 12 sell out races taking place through out the day. People lined the banks of the stream to watch the RNLI Ducks race each other down the rapids.

Stalls were also set up on the green giving those attending the chance to buy souvenirs from the lifeboat shop, take part in hook a duck, face painting and for those brave enough take a few wet sponges in the stocks.

The RNLI Rhyl's Water Safety Team were also on hand to give out important safety advice for in and around the water.

RNLI mascot Stormy Stan also made an appearance.

Event Organiser Amy McAdam said:

'It was great to see so many people attending this year, the weather held out and we even had a bit of sunshine! The support of the local community is always great here, this year we managed to raise over £2,100 towards the RNLI, with some money still to come in.

'I'd like to thank everyone for helping to make the day a success. I also like to make a special thank you to the Dyserth Waterfall Committee for providing the area for the event, they have done so for many years now and we enjoy coming back year after year.'
