John Turner, Torbay RNLI’s Water Safety Officer, has been invited as one amongst five RNLI volunteers from across UK, to attend a garden party on Wednesday 3rd May at Buckingham Palace to mark the coronation. John represents the South West of England region and his selection recognizes his work promoting water safety and protecting lives on the water.
John Turner has been an integral part of the Torbay RNLI team for over 20 years educating and informing the public about the potential hazards of the sea and how to stay safe while enjoying the coastal waters and all its related activities and hobbies. His dedication to promoting water safety has undoubtedly helped reduce the number of call-outs Torbay RNLI station has had, as well as earning the respect of his colleagues and the wider community.
Torbay RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Nick O'Brien, said, ‘We are delighted John has been invited to represent our region of the RNLI. His knowledge and dedication to promoting water safety is a great asset to the station’s services, and we are delighted to see his efforts recognized in this way.’
John Turner will be attending a garden party at the palace on Wednesday 3rd May 2023. We wish him a memorable trip up to London and time at the Palace, and thank him for his continued service to the community.
