Llandudno Lifeboat Station hosts pupils from Ysgol Craig y Don
RNLI Llandudno were pleased to host eighty-five Year 3 & 4 pupils from Ysgol Craig y Don who visited Llandudno Lifeboat Station as part of their study of 'Stormy Weather'.
The Visits Team were able to divide the children into smaller groups; volunteers Myfanwy Jones, Phill Williams, Phil Ralph and Mike Oates showed them around the lifeboats and equipment to see how the members of crew are able to save lives at sea. The children also saw the crew's protective equipment which helps keep them safe at sea in all weathers.
The pupils were so impressed that they volunteered to raise money for the RNLI by doing sponsored chores, which included doing the washing up, hoovering and tidying up the dog's toys! They must have worked really hard because they raised a fantastic £284.77.
Last Friday, March 24th, the children returned to the Station to present Station Mechanic Luke Heritage with the money they had collected.
Thank you, children, and well done!
