Last Wednesday and Saturday the volunteer crew at Blyth held two recruitment events were they were looking to recruit new volunteers so they can continue to save lives at sea.
With plenty of interest shown the future is looking bright for the RNLI at Blyth and we are looking forward to welcoming the new volunteers once the formalities of the paperwork are completed.
There has also been further success with Stephen Sayer becoming a competent volunteer crew member on the station's Atlantic 85 B class inshore lifeboat. This comes with Stephen undertaking a years worth of training and being assessed on the various modules that the RNLI require for a volunteer crew member to become competent.
Lifeboat Operations Manager,Paul Young said 'Firstly we'd like to 'Thank" to everyone that came down to the lifeboat station and expressed an interest in becoming a volunteer crew member at Blyth. Secondly, 'Congratulations' to Stephen in becoming a competent volunteer crew member on our Atlantic 85, his hard work and dedication have paid off.'

If anyone was unable to attend our two recruitment events but is still interested in become involved with the RNLI then drop an email to Blyth@rnli.org.uk
