The UK Coastguard team had been contacted following reports of a jet ski, which appeared to be unmanned, drifting 1000m offshore from Abersoch main beach.

The Peter and Ann Setten B Class Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat was launched at 1.22pm and located the vessel at 1.25pm.

It was quickly established by the local Abersoch Coastguard that the owner of the vessel had been safely located onshore, the vessel having slipped it’s anchor.

The lifeboat crew returned the jet ski to the beach where it was retrieved and safely stowed on a waiting trailer.

The volunteer crew returned to the Lifeboat Station at 1.42pm where the lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and left ready for service.

If you get into difficult, or spot someone else in trouble, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
