RNLI Clacton launch person in distress
On Friday 21 July 2023 just before 5am, volunteer crews from the Clacton-on-Sea RNLI Lifeboat station received a call with reports of a person in distress in the water.
The volunteer crew launched their D-Class ILB (Inshore Lifeboat) ‘Damar’s Pride’ into clear and calm sea conditions and headed to the reported location by popular local beach café ‘Paddle Bay’ near Vista Road.
Upon arrival on the scene, the reported person was seen to be leaving the water, in the care of Essex Police officers.
The crew then proceeded back to the lifeboat station where the lifeboat was cleaned, refuelled and ready for service by 5.30am.
