At 4.38 pm on Monday the 10 July 2023 the volunteer crew members of the Beaumaris lifeboat received a page to launch from the H.M. Coastguard to investigate a report of a paddleboarder in difficulties.
The Beaumaris Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington with her volunteer crew launched at 4.53 pm to proceed to the location given at Friars Bay.
Upon arrival it became apparent that the paddleboarder had made his own way ashore and was now in conversation with the Penmon Mobile Coastguard team.
The lifeboat arrived back at Beaumaris, at 5.03 pm to be refuelled and cleaned, once this had been completed the crew left the station at 5.45 pm.
A RNLI spokesperson said, ‘We would like to thank the people on the shore for raising the alarm, as whilst our help may not have been needed in this instance it is better for us to ensure that all is well, rather wait for something to develop’.
